Grande received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes for her role in Wicked, marking a significant milestone in her career. She is also considered a frontrunner in the same category for the Academy Awards, set to take place in March. “Of course, we love singing with each other,” Grande shared with The Hollywood Reporter at the Golden Globes First-Time Nominee Celebration on Tuesday. “I’ll sing together absolutely anywhere, anytime, especially in celebration of Wicked. I love her; that’s my sister. Say the word, and we’ll be there.” Erivo, who portrays Elphaba, is also nominated for a Golden Globe and generating significant Oscar buzz for her performance.

Celebrating Wicked’s Success

Grande attended the Beverly Hills luncheon alongside her mother, Joan Grande, and shared a memorable moment on the red carpet with fellow nominee Zoe Saldaña. Reflecting on the enthusiastic reception to Wicked — the first installment of which has been a massive success—Grande expressed gratitude for the support from her idols.

“Imogen Heap, my musical idol since I was a young girl, saw it with her daughter and loved it. That was very exciting,” Grande said. “We also got to meet Steven Spielberg, which was incredibly overwhelming and such an honor. He was so kind, and it was just really exciting. To have these idols in music and film say kind things about your work is extraordinarily special.”

Looking Ahead

The film’s second part, Wicked: For Good, is set to release next year, adding to the anticipation surrounding the franchise. With Grande and Erivo’s performances receiving critical acclaim, their potential appearance at the Oscars would further cement Wicked’s cultural and cinematic impact.
